Cecil Engineering provides professional services to mineral land companies to assist with their management and development of mineral and other resources.   Services are provided on an ongoing basis for lease negotiations, lease management, and coordination of the development of coal and gas resources.  Duties also include litigation support for lease matters and title and boundary defense.  These land management services are provided to companies in Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

Other professional services provided are various land surveying and civil engineering services.  Surveying services include boundary and topographic surveys, control surveys, flood surveys, and title insurance surveys.  Civil engineering services include site planning and design, utility design for municipalities, and other design work for the land development disciplines.      

 

JEWELL RIDGE COAL COMPANY, a division of the Pittston Coal Group 1977 – 1981

Mining and Industrial Engineer, Production Supervisor

Served Jewell Ridge as a mining engineer, industrial engineer, and production supervisor on continuous mining sections, longwall sections, shortwall sections, and continuous haulage sections.  Duties also included roof control, ventilation, mine budgeting, surveying, water removal and treatment, ventilation studies, time and motion studies, shaft construction, and other engineering work.

Building Construction, Project Management

Provided building construction and project management support over summer and holidays for a variety of construction projects, including commercial and industrial construction on building and municipal utility projects, such as water and sewer lines, water and waste water treatment facilities, storm water piping, school and bank construction etc.
